The University of Nevada School of Medicine ( UNSOM ), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Las Vegas is recruiting for a full-time Research Analyst Progr! ammer.
The ideal candidate will provide SAS programming and data analysis support with a primary focus on supporting research using large, multi-year healthcare claims databases. Using detailed project specifications, write SAS data steps, procedures and macros to retrieve “raw” study databases, create summarized patient or hospital discharge level datasets, generate diagnostics and frequencies, and populate Microsoft Excel-ready output tables in multiple UNIX environments. Collaborate with researchers and research analysts to integrate and analyze data from various sources. Develop and/or evaluate new research protocols considering feasibility of conduct at the site. As necessary, the Research analyst/Programmer facilitates activities related to clinical trials. Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, the Federal guidelines for use of animals and human subjects in research, University Institutional Review Board and electronic records, medical records and cons! ent laws. You must also be knowledgeable of Econometric studie! s and pharmacoeconomic modeling as well as programming statistical software such as SAS , STATA , SPSS and SQL .

Requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of experience in performing epidemiological statistical studies and clinical research. SAS programmer Certification

The position is under the supervision of the Department Chair for Obstetrics/Gynecology at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.
