Responsibilities include:

• Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones. Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques.
• Utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
• Prepare patients! for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report change! s in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist. Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.
• Maintain patient records in division.
• Charge procedures and supplies in RIS. Archive and de-archive ultrasound data. Orient new
• Ultra-sonographers; provide education and training to new sonographers. Perform other related duties incidental to the work therein.
• Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities including masses, abscesses, and stones.
• Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instrument using sonographic techniques. Perform ultrasound procedures, doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies and color-flow ultrasound, OB-GYN procedures as required.
• Utilize accessory equipment such as selective trans! ducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.
• Evaluate quality of sonograms. Determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.
• Maintain patient records in division.
• Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtains service as required.
• Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures.
• Provide direction and instruction to existing personnel and training to new sonographers.
• Act in a team leader or leadership capacity on an as needed basis.
• Ensure correct charging of ultrasound procedures and supplies on a daily basis.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

• A certification from an accredited ultra! sound/sonography school related field preferred.
• Prefer at lea! st one year of experience as an ultrasound technician/sonographer preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Current BLS card.
• Current TB test or chest x-ray.
• Current physical exam per state or contract requirements.
• Successfully pass all maxim screening exams with a score of 80% or greater.
• Must meet all of maxim's pre-employment screening requirements
