This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a RN Registered Nurse. Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN, Registered Nurse on the Unit to which assigned. Must be able to coordinates the delivery of patient care on the Unit; completes required documentation; participates in patient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process. Provides leadership by working cooperatively and effectively with physicians, ancillary staff and other administrative and support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the multidisciplinary clinical setting. Provides the basic leadership required of a RN Registered Nurse for subordinate staff on the Unit. Maintains quality delivery of patient care by completing patient assignments in compliance with the Nursing Process, the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, JCAHO and State regulations and established Hospital Policies and Procedures. Strives daily to give all customers very good care and promotes our Standards of Behavior and other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY: RN Registered Nurse - OB Obstetrics
The RN, Registered Nurse is directly accountable to the Department Director and is ultimately responsible to the Chief Nursing Officer.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: RN Registered Nurse - OB Obstetrics
The Licensed RN, Registered Nurse has the authority and the responsibility of supervising Interim Permit Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nursing Assistants and the Unit Coordinators that are assigned to his/her shift.
CONTACTS/INTERACTS WITH:
Patients, Family, Physicians, Staff, Hospital Leaders and Community Members.
LATITUDE:
All positions are part of an interdisciplinary team, and, as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS: RN Registered Nurse - OB Obstetrics
A. Education:
Associate's degree or higher in nursing
B. Experience:
Sufficient previous clinical experience in medical and obstetrical nursing
C. Other Requirements:
Nevada RN Registered Nurse license. American Heart Association Certifications: BLS upon date of hire. ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation within 90 days of hire; AWHONN within a year of hire.
