Now hiring a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for leading health system in the Las Vegas Nevada area!
Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director/Manager, the Registered Nurse provides patient care in response to identified needs. Additional functions will be performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the organization.
Assures quality care through compliance with departmental policies, hospital and external regulatory agency guidelines.
Demonstrates desirable work habits and promotes personal growth and professionalism in the work environment.
Effectively performs the duties and responsibilities of a Labor and Delivery Nurse using the nursing process.
Provides and documents quality patient care consistently according to hospital standards and policy/procedures.
Accepts accountability and responsibility as a member of the department of nursing services.
May be occasions when it will be necessary to work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and! /or on-call/call-back status.
Experience:
! 1-2 years acute care nursing experience required.
Nursing experience in Labor & Delivery or one of the following units, Women's Care, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Maternal Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Women's Health, and/or Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) desired.
Education:
Associates of Nursing from an Accredited Nursing School required.
Bachelor's of Science or in Nursing and/or Masters in health care related field preferred.
Certifications / Licensure:
Current Texas Registered Nurse License and/or other licensure as applicable.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Current ACLS Certification
Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification required
Eligible for the NCLEX
Special Skills:
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of acc! uracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
Personal computer skills required.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
