The Obstetrics/Gynecology Nurse Practitioner position in Las Vegas, Nevada, provides clinical and primary health care for women. Under the supervision ! or collaboration with a physician(s), the individual performs duties such as conducting gynecological exams, caring for pregnant patients, performing annual exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications; performing medical procedures and providing patient education.
Successful candidates will have analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational and time management skills to maintain patient care data and follow-up effectively; excellent interpersonal and human relations skills; and supervisory skills, including the ability to teach and precept students.
Candidates should also have the ability work and interact with a diverse population; interact effectively with faculty, staff and administration; knowledge of nursing as it related to obstetrics and gynecology; clinical skills related to women’s health care; and knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding basic ! diagnoses, prescriptive authority and Medicare and Medicaid re! quirements.
Clinical care will be provided at UNSOM’s OB/ GYN clinic at 1707 W Charleston Blvd and the University’s Womens Center at 2231 W Charleston Blvd.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution and two years of experience working in women’s or related healthcare. Training and experience must be completed prior to employment commencing.
Licensed as Nurse Practitioner in State of Nevada
Board of Pharmacy License
Drug Enforcement Agency ( DEA ) License
